Well, I’m officially living the dream… A few months ago Hopes Bridal and I planned to team up and organize a styled shoot; we had BIG dreams, I’m talking working with venues and vendors, florists, designers, models, the whole 9 yards and create wedding day magic. I played around with the idea and realized I had an opportunity to simplify, save time (because let’s be real, you don’t have any when you are a working mama!!) and create something just as magical on my upcoming vacation in THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS!!!! Really all I needed were two models, a dress, and well, a mountainous backdrop. =)
Let me tell you, the hardest part of planning this session was choosing a location, when we arrived and explored the area for a few days, I really became overwhelmed- THERE WERE SO MANY BEAUTIFUL OPTIONS!!! Iowa is beautiful in its own way, but holy cow, Colorado is seriously a photographer’s paradise. For those of you who might have been to Estes Park, bear lake was a strong contender with its majestic views of the mountains and shimmering blue waters. But, I ended up choosing Lily Lake just outside of RMNP, for the simple reason that it felt right. Rustic charm + elegance made a perfect combination.
We had a glorious night, a dreamy sunset, and Dusty and Brittany Drenth absolutely crushed it; I think we were all blissfully happy to be doing something we love in such an amazing place (for those two, it was cuddling up to each other, and for me, it was seeing this beautiful country behind my lens.)
So you’ve probably guessed it, I’ve been hit with the travel bug! Destination weddings are officially a part of my wedding photography collections!!!
